Aja Black is one half of The Reminders. The Reminders are a rare and remarkable musical duo seamlessly blending soulful sounds and roots music with insightful messages and thoughtful lyrics. The group consists of Brussels-born emcee Big Samir and Queens-born emcee/vocalist Aja Black, a collective creative force that’s hard to beat. Big Samir weaves intricate rhythmic patterns with a bilingual French/English flow, displaying his street-smart credibility in both his lyrics and cool demeanor. This is beautifully complimented by Aja Black’s confident delivery, diverse cadences, and unique vocal stylings. The two have an undeniable magical chemistry as they share more than lyrical abilities and stages; the couple shares a partnership in both music and life as Samir and Aja have been married for a decade.
From the garden to the globe,Tubby Love is gathering the tribe. Born David Andrew Terrett, Tubby’s physical, spiritual, and musical transformation has been a testimony to the power of human evolution. Music has been the catalyst for deepening his connection to life and also a bridge for sharing his journey with others. Calling the island of Kauai home has set forth a Roots Family movement involving regenerative land and energy practices connecting communities inter-island and worldwide. Tubby and his partner Amber Lily have been blessed to create a soundtrack for this movement alongside artists like Medicine For The People, Dustin Thomas, Wookiefoot, Trevor Hall, Mike Love, Nattali Rize, Paul Izak, Rising Appalachia, Cas Haley, as well as other artists with a similar message. In a time of much needed change, Tubby Love is unifying the people through music and addressing real issues to inspire solutions.
Katia Racine, aka Pixie, began her musical development in the womb. Her father having studied classical guitar at the Peabody conservatory, Katia was born into a world of music. Growing up in a musical household in Maryland, Katia quickly became a multi-instrumentalist, learning piano, guitar, ukulele, clarinet and having written numerous songs by her teens. She studied Musical Theater at Northeastern University in Boston before moving to Utah where she formed the progressive bluegrass band Pixie and The Partygrass Boys, whom she now tours with full time.
